Title: wormy land??
Post by: wolfie on May 17, 2008, 10:45:40 pm
Hi, can anyone give any advice to an (almost) absolute newbie? We have  11 acres, and are about to start with 6 chickens. Previous owners had 10+ dogs plus the 6 geese which we have inherited. We believe it unlikely that anything has/had been wormed. What implications might this have for our 3 dogs /  children / future livestock? How long do any parasite eggs live in the ground, is there anything to worry about or to be done? Also I've been told that wrapping the geese up and dribbling medication into their beaks is the way to go for worming them and that that there is a product used on sheep that is suitable if the dosage is reduced for weight. Any thoughts??
Thanks
