one of my twin Shetland lambs has suddenly lost use of her back legs ...just two days old what could this be ??
-
Take to vet :sheep:

I would think back trouble, maybe a knock or sprain?
-
I had a young ewe that twisted her back in her first labour when she chose a ditch for giving birth and rolled down into it.
Nothing could be done and it was suggested she was put down after three days but I called my McTimoney chiropractor out - he got her up adjusted her spin. She gave a grunt and went out to start grazing.
Gave birth unassisted to twin lambs next year, same year after, then she was sold on. At the time the callout change for the chiro was the same cost as the vets bill would have been

Did you have the Vet come out and examine it, what was the diagnosis?
-
we took her to vet straight away he said no breakages and she did have tiny reflex so he gave meds and said to see how she goes over weekend ...but no change so far
-
Does she try to stand at all? If so does she then sway around before her back legs give out? Could be swayback, if so. Did the vet give her painkillers and/or anti-inflammatories?
-
No she can't stand at all ,vet gave her steroids ,painkillers ;
-
Maybe the ewe stood on her? Does she respond to something like a pinprick on her leg?
