Title: will they lay in same place
Post by: langdon on February 03, 2010, 08:40:37 pm
we are going to let our chucks have run of the plot when i first finish
the path through our plot(mud a nightmare, ive put foundation for path in)
my question is will our chucks come back to the house to lay where they have been for last
year or so, or will they start laying all over the place!!!!!!
it would make my life easier if they do!!!! :chook: ;D

mainly they will. get a couple of fake eggs to help them remember. make sure the nesting material is fresh and you should get a happy bunch of chucks laying roughly were you want them to. make sure you destroy any rogue nests .

Or if you're cheap like me, blow some real ones and seal up the holes with glue to stop them cracking  ;)

My feed merchant got me some pottery eggs from the Highland Show last year, but much more liked with my birds are the marble ones I bought in the charity shop (50 p). with the white pottery eggs they always find out after a few days that they've been tricked and go elsewhere ::) clever birds ...:&>
