Title: Our Tammys are here
Post by: mad dogs and us two on May 12, 2008, 11:53:34 am
Hi all,

we have just got our first two Tamworths, they are ten weeks old and seem very happy in their new home.

Pictures are on the website.

They are so absolutely scrummly georgeous - but then I am biased!

Love the website and the pictures are just lovely, they look so contented.

You must post when you give them names - they are far too beautiful to be called no 1 & 2!

Congrats........ we've just got our first two from John and Kate too, saddleback x's and they refuse to come out of their bed! Were going to name them One and Two,but guess they'll be A & B now  ;D

There is something to be said for buying from people you trust. I saw some advice on another post today from Malc ( I think) who suggested obtaining your weaners from someone local, someone with experience and know what they are talking about, that the pigs are healthy and that they're from a good source. I couldn't believe my luck in finding this website, but especially Kate and John. It's always a nervous time when getting animals that you have no experience of,and gawd knows I was nervous, but today, three days in,all is calm....... Hi Mr Ree

Our pigs have already got the first member of their fan club, our Poodle Kassie who is very pleased about the new channel on her live tv.

I'll admit to being very nervous and excited about getting our pigs, but having Kate & John at the end of the phone settles the nerves quite nicely.

I was a reluctant city boy for most of my life and now know what I was missing. This is a much better way of life, every day brings something new even if it is just the first flower on the cucumbers!

One thing I have noticed about France is that animal medicines seem to be palatable, I'm not trying them myself, but Kassie is quite happy to take her Glucosamine and her occasional liquid painkiller but the most surprising was the sheep happily lapping up the worming fluid that I was clumsily squirting into their mouths, i was expecting a fight but they seemed to enjoy it!

Happy days

Steve

Hi all

We are inside dodging thunderstorms so we have had another thought about names for our pigs and we have come up with,

Melton and Mowbray, which we will shorten to Mel & Mo so as not to frighten them.

All we have to do now is figure out which is which because they really are like two peas in a pod.

What fab names - get Steve to check out the widths of their bums - aren't bottoms a man thing? I am sure he will be able to tell the difference!!

Lovely names but-------Kate lets not talk about bottoms, remember Barry and John!!!!!!

Good luck with the piggies, have looked at the web site, they are fine specimens, but all pigs from John and Kate are great, and Yes I do have some of them too.
