Title: Maiden Sow
Post by: apple and sauce on January 27, 2010, 06:52:00 pm
We have decided to breed our registered OSB sow.We have started to read up on breeding and the different methods.Obviously naturally would be best but finding a close by Boar thats unrelated is not simple. Also my partner is not keen on having a Boar at home.So we would prefer to find somebody that we could take our sow to.Otherwise we have thought about Artificial Insemination.Looking on the BPA there is no OSB semen available.
Does anybody have any eperience or advice for us?

If looking for a stud boar it's generally better to bring the sow to the boar. Have you got in touch with the breed club? they are very helpful.
OSB semen is going to be available but it's taking a while to sort out as the potential donor is in one country and the station is in another.
