Title: Just ordered my new pigs - Berkshires
Post by: xxmillyxx on January 13, 2010, 03:33:38 pm
Hi all
I have just arranged to pick up my first pigs in about 4 weeks.  Berkshires  :pig:
I have ordered 3 weaner's - 2 for fattening and I am going to keep one for breeding.  I have been debating on which to get for quite a while now and it is so good to have finally decided on the Berkshires.
Does anyone keep these? and do you have any advice for me regarding this specific breed?
We have had the area ready for them for about two months but any tips would be great on this plus feeding, etc

Ours are really thick. I think it's because there are so few of them around that they must be inbred to certain degree. They are lovely characters though
