Title: Kiwi
Post by: pigsatlesrues on May 05, 2008, 10:43:14 am
For those of us new to the concept of gardening that is productive, I just thought I would mention that I have been sourcing new fruit trees to add to our already established orchard, and also lemons for the patio.  In my search, the guy at the nursery suggested a creeping kiwi which sounds just fab.  I think I may have to wait until the autumn, but apparantly providing there is a female and male plant in nearby facinity, the fruit is prolific.  It needs a south facing wall, and need to be trained.

I like the whole idea of planting out the patio pots, and plants that produce things to eat.  All that watering etc that you have to do to keep bedding plants beautiful,  it seems a good idea to at least grow something useful.
