Following form the thread in 'Crafts' (Thank you Whittsend) I have lured Diane aka MurmeringWheel ( http://www.murmuringwheel.co.uk/ (http://www.murmuringwheel.co.uk/) ) to my shop in Bala to lead a spinning workshop :excited: .
It will be suitable for beginners and improvers (expert lurkers are completely welcome too!). Diane comes from a family of committed fibre 'craftsmen'....as any of you who have met Philip the singing shearer will know, and Philip will also be there to help your wheel run smoothly if it doesn't already!
The workshop will run from 10-3 (but I'll be there from 8 so come whenever, set up and have a cuppa and a natter) on Thursday 15th January 2015and the price includes refreshements and lunch.
We are offering 2 options, price wise:
£35 if you have your own wheel and fibre
£45 if you are starting out, or don't wish to bring your own wheel -there will be a range of wheels, spindles and fibres to try ;D :spin: .
Needless to say even if you do bring your own fibre, you can dip into mine.
Limited Bed and breakfast (not en suite) is also available in the flat above the shop for an extra £15/pp
( http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/bala/5403820 (http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/bala/5403820) )
Vouchers available if buying as a pressie!

Very excited already! :excited:
I'll be one without a wheel or fleece, thank you.

I would also be interested - I've been meaning to do for a while now. I'll need both wheel and fibres as well. (I have fleeces which are completely unprepared but would be happy to donate for you to use another time)
I shall be coming from Llangernyw and would be happy to pick you up Lady K

Thanks for the address FiB I don't know Bala very well, but assume you are easy to find.
Are you all organised for the catering? I will bake some Welsh cakes but will happily bring other items if you want me to.
looking forward to meeting up.

So easy to find! We are at the lake end of the high street, pretty much opposite the co op ..... there will be a spinning wheel in the shop window :-) high street parking is 1 hr only so park as near as you can and come and get me (anyone) and I will give you a hand with stuff in etc... Then you can park in the car park round the back of the co op. Making a big pot of leek and potato soup and will put bread in oven. I cannot wait!

Thank you, yes hopefully, it's the getting to and from Bala which may be problematic! However, with a bit of luck and more rain than snow and ice will see you bright and breezy (being the operative word!) in the morning
