Im looking for info regarding delayed pregnacy in a texel ewe 19months old. She has had milk or pre milk for atleast 5 months and she still doesnt seem to be either getting any bigger or labouring in her daily chores . After seeing her Male partner sniffing around today ( warm early winter weather) it got me thinking !!! :-\ Is she really pregnant or just really fat from a very green season ? br Avitum

Probly just an over-fat texel
we see loads of them, they like to roll over and wave legs in the air when they reach ultimate fatness

Its like sheep bingo

Too big a fat deposit can cause hormonal changes.

Can anyone link me to such a prognoses regarding hormonal imbalances ? (and not the feet in the air bit!)

Google a phrase like "hormonal imbalances caused by excess adipose tissue in animals" and you'll get loads of fascinating stuff.
