Title: FREE TO GOOD HOME - Shetland Katmoget Ram - Kent
Post by: 17AndCounting on November 16, 2014, 02:29:00 pm
Free to good home - unregistered Shetland Katmoget complete ram.

He covered our ewes last year and produced lovely pretty lambs but unfortunately he's escaped once too often and we've had to promise the farmer next door that we'll get rid of him.

We were given him for free hence we're happy to pass him onto a new home for free.

He is very quick on his feet and quite a handful to catch. He is bucket trained though.

We are near Tunbridge Wells in Kent. New owner to collect please.

I would have thought mutton is a more sensible option - after all you are just passing your problem onto other sheepkeepers... also would have thought that as you are quite honest in describing his "virtues" it would be quite unlikely someone will take him for anything else than meat.., you may as well enjoy it yourself! (says she after having had her dinner just now - roast leg of Shetland hogget...).

We would be happy to turn him into mutton but we have no way of getting him to an abattoir quickly. Hence looking for a new owner for him.

Maybe your farmer neighbour would take him in? ;)
