Title: Tractor anti theft.

Hi,I some times need to leave my tractor on my holding over night.Its an old 1970's tractor but I know people still steel them.What would be the best way to make it a bit more secure,I remove the battery.I thought something to the fuel system.I also wandered about concreting some securing points in the ground to chain it down.Also doing the same for some other equipment. Any advice greatly appreciated.

You can buy an aftermarket immobiliser (http://www.caraudiogiant.co.uk/shop/by-manufacturer/toad/immobilisers/toad-sterling-touch-immobiliser/prod_481.html) for about £30. They come with a number of pairs of wires that you cut and shut into whatever electrical circuits are appropriate (e.g. fuel pump, starter motor, whatever). Don't know if that's appropriate for your tractor, but it works well for old landies.

You may stop the casual passerby or joyriders but if they are determined to take it they will regardless of what you do.  Chaining down is the best in my opinion.
