Title: Tail End of the Hurricane

Heading our way .... the worst to hit Bermuda in 50 years.  Always braced for high winds here but have just spent an hour tying down or removing to cover odd bits and pieces.  Our highest winds are generally January/February - so glad we got the farmhouse roof fixed last month.

funny how its so wet and windy yet mild... would normally expect to be freezing..

Just phoned to check my cousin in Bermuda OK. They're permanently braced for hurricanes out there anyway, with very strict building regs, so not much damage, but the hurricane was truly ferocious, even by their standards.

Are there strong winds in England because of it?

Really windy here, lost some roof tiles but hopefully that will be it  :-\

Oh, yes! Any dramatic weather on the eastern seaboard of the USA or anywhere in between generally gets to the UK a day or so later.

I drove 400 miles today down the m74, m6, m1 corridor, to say it was exciting at times is an understatement!!! Some of the high siders were all over the road!!!

We're down a couple of trees - one leylandi that I had it in for anyway and a massive chunk of willow came down - missing the beehives by inches! Busy day tomorrow with the chainsaw me thinks.

It's been windy today but not that bad. The garden chairs are where I left them and they are usually all over the patio after strong winds. It still sounds quite wild out there but is calming down, I think (hope).

WE very rarely have wind but I have woken to 4 inches of snow :rant:

we had a couple of hail showers yesterday and some strong gusts but its the neverending rain thats causing the most problems! Thankfully got our drains dug out and widened for the winter but getting the track machine back up to the house tomorrow is going to be fun  :-\
