Title: Clevum Economy Incubator
Post by: Me on October 15, 2014, 10:44:38 am
Hello, I have been asked by a friend if I would like his Clevum Economy Incubator - I don't want it but said I would try advertising it for him. It is a lovely old wood oil or paraffin fired incubator and has been kept in a dry garage but never used.
Can anyone tell me anything about them because my internet search only found one sold in Ireland in an antiques auction. Glevums seem to be sold in the UK (as opposed to Clevum - are we miss-reading the wording?!)

and also would anyone like to buy it? Located just down the road from Me, near Synod Inn.

TIA Me

Ok thanks for the response, he is planning to throw it out but I said to wait and I would ask on here if it is worth anything, any guide to value or should he throw it?

I've got two glevum superior incubators (bigger versions of the economy) for sale on ebay.
FYI. Glevum.(latin for) Made in gloucester by stephens apparently one of the first automated incubators on the market. Aimed at the pheasant market where electric power may not have been available but good for all poultry.
Can be adapted to run on electric with some thought and trial.circa 1940's or 1950's.Could also be adapted for warm box for chicks
