I'm busy making needle-felted items for my daughter to sell on a craft stall in the run up to Christmas. I've started to make Christmas tree decorations as well as Tooth fairy hangings. My grandson loves his tooth fairy so I'm hoping they'll appeal to lots of children. I'm just trying to decide what colours I can use for the background. I want to make them all different but I know that most small girls like purple and pink best.

Think you'd be ok with any colour for the background. You could try some greens, or some turqouisey blues?

Thanks, Dans. I did wonder about greens. I'll have a rummage and see what colours I have. I bought loads of stuff for using. I also made one with a boy tooth fairy for an order and have one with a brown-skinned fairy.

My boys used to leave a short note under the pillow for the tooth fairy - and he always replied ending with a pencil stickman self portrait - our tooth fairy had a beard and looked awfully like me :roflanim:......! I think if you started felting bearded tooth fairies you'd scare everyone but your post brought back some happy memories I had forgotten.

I did one with a little boy tooth fairy for a friend and I have also made a brown skinned one, originally intended for my granddaughter, who is mixed race, but it's going on the stall. She's not quite three so I have plenty of time to make another one for her. My daughter says it is very difficult to buy dolls that are brown skinned so loves the idea of an appropriately coloured tooth fairy.
