This little baby bird was stuck behind the glass on our balcony. Mum/Dad kept calling and trying to encourage him out but he would not budge :huff: . So OH put him on the handrail and 10 minutes later he flew away :relief: . Any ideas what he is please? Thinking maybe a chiffchaff or willow warbler :-\

Just realised that I should have put this in wildlife - it is hardly a plant! :-[

Not sure what it is but a super picture though.

Chiffchaff?

Baby chaffinch? Dear little soul.

What's the scale? What are the measurements of the rail it's sitting on? Definitely not a chaffinch - wrong colour and has a stripe over its eye.
Some possibilities : yellow wagtail juvenile (prob not); yellow browed warbler; wood warbler; chiffchaff; willow warbler - my favourite option as has a darker stripe through its eye just below the yellow stripe; almost any of the LBJs. Size helps, and call, although most babies just say 'cheep' :o :D. Where you live also makes a difference. Whatever it is, I've not noticed one round here :(

Robin perhaps

The rail is approx. 1 1/2"/4cm high.
I think with the black legs, eye stripe and brown cheeks he was probably a chiffchaff. He really was weeny :-* .
We are on the Dorset coast. I hope he makes it wherever he was going :fc:
