Title: Dabbling at small holding.
Post by: SmallWelshBarn on September 16, 2014, 09:18:20 pm
Greetings from Monmouth,
Having lived in rural France for the last 4 years I returned back to London and decided to sell up my London home as I have horses and just to expensive to keep at livery.
Having a gf in Monmouth I decided to relocate to Wales. The search was on for a home with stables and a couple of acres.
What I actually ended up with is a 7 acre small holding. Small barn and a number of outbuildings and a very beautiful hand bespoke pig stye.
I bought all the small holding equipment from the vendor ;-)
The property is fantastic just the barn is too small with no chance to extend ;-( However the land is great.
Little video I filmed with a drone.

Wow - what a lovely place. Monmouth area is gorgeous. Was that a Maremma I spotted by the gate?

Yes that is one of two Maremma's well spotted. I am very chuffed. We have been clearing 20 years of bramble invasion this last week cutting up fallen trees and clearing back small scrubby trees. Managed to reclaim 2 acres ;-) However today I thought I had pulled a muscle in my calf have realised that it is i fact a reaction to a blackthorn spike ;-( Can just about walk !!

What a wonderful place. I would love to live somewhere like that.

Be careful with that leg. Blackthorn can do nasty things.

Hi  from Shropshire, by the way.
