Post by: Le Recoignot on November 24, 2009, 08:39:56 pm
Hi

Does anyone have experience of the above cultivator, or indeed any other Titan Pro cultivator.
Thanks

I don't have a Titan cultivator but I did buy a similar machine (more like a TP500) back in the Summer.

From my experience with it I would suggest that the bigger machine (more tines) you are considering would require a fair bit of muscle power to control and use effectively.

It depends on your soil and what you hope to do with the machine of course. My land consists of fairly light loam and the cultivator works OK when the soil is moist. The Summer here was very dry and the dry hard ground was too much for either the cultivator or the harrows I use with my little tractor.

It is difficult to work the soil more than about 4 inches down. You can go deeper by making two passes but it is quite slow. One pass takes out most weeds and leaves a fine tilth suitable for seeds.

I haven't tried the cultivator in heavy clay soil but can imagine that it would be a miserable experience.

I haven't tried it with a plough or ridger only a pair of rotating tines.
