Title: Proven, hot weather is not good for AI
Post by: trish.farm on August 14, 2014, 07:16:26 pm
Yep, all 3 girls are bulling!!  They were AI'd 3 weeks ago on the hottest day of the summer.  Genus tech was doubtful they would take and he was right!! He is back again tomorrow at 6am to try again!  Of course they were at the furthest part of the farm, at the end of the water meadows, so a long trek home this afternoon and a night in the home paddock with plenty of hay.  Long trek back to the meadows tomorrow and fingers crossed they will take this time.

Very sweet though, the Hereford x that i adopted onto Daisy trotted beside me all the way as i led Delilah, he kept nudging me for digestive biscuits!!  Very cute!

Girls AI'd this morning, 2 out of 3 were bulling, he reckons the 3rd took on the last service which is good.  He pasted her back end with red paste so i will know if they are riding her in the next couple of days.  Have to say that both Genus techs i have had out have been lovely.  Very happy with my makeshift crush, and very gentle with my girls.  Good luck BinW!!  :fc:
