The seller will give you two copies of the movement licence, You keep the yellow one and send the white one to SAMU. Don't know about on-line - not brave enough to go there yet.

You only need the CPH number.

Depending on where you are, I think England have moved over to doing stuff electronically more as well.
It will still be the case that the seller completes the movement document, then when you get home you have to notify the relevant people (SAMU in Scotland, either by sending the white sheet back by post, or I prefer scan and email) as stated at the bottom of the movement document.
Then you have to amend your holding register with the movement, giving you an updated total of sheep, or if they are your first sheep, then you will have your first entry! You should have been sent a holding register with your CPH/flock number, but you can download electronic versions, or even make your own based on the required data.
As I have goats, pigs and sheep, I have an Excel version with a page for each to save a million different ones!
Enjoy your sheep when they come!

I'm on the Moray Coast of Scotland because I can't stand the heat, I get sunstroke and heatstroke incredibly easily!
Also, I'm a vet, and it is very difficult to work in waterproofs when you are in a hotter place!
Even up here, I've had the early stages of heatstroke at least 3 times that I can think of this year

is the 'local authority' my local defra office? how do i find this and the address for it? do i need to write something special on the envelope or something?

Ed, It all changed in April 2014 and you can now register online  .
Look up w.w.w.arams.co.uk.
I think the new address to send the forms is in Milton Keynes ::) , it used to be your local office.  As you can tell, I haven't moved any since April ;D .

Hi ! If you want to use paper then send to. Animal Reporting and Movement Service, SouthWestern , PO Box 6299 , Milton Keynes ,MK10 1ZQ.
Alternatively go online.  Your local trading standards will no longer be dealing with the paperwork .
Good Luck  :innocent:
