Post by: trish.farm on July 24, 2014, 09:16:59 pm
Had Genus out to AI my Jersey girls this morning, have spent a fortune with the vet to synchronise bulling, everything going to plan, CIDR's pulled on monday, jabbed on monday, I jabbed them last night with receptal, AI man out at 10 this morning.  He drops into conversation that with the temperature over 25 degrees they probably wont take!  It was 32 here today!  Ho Hum!!   ???

I thinks he's right!  A client recorded 45c in the farmyard on friday.  I suspect a lot of bulls & tups will be firing blanks for the next 6 weeks as well as early embryo loss for those already served.

:(  i was hoping someone would reply with "no worries, it will be fine!!"

I did keep them in the coolest little paddock after AI ing for 2 days until they ran out of grass, they are now down in the water meadows so will be a trek back up to the yard in a few weeks if they come bulling again!  Grrr
