Title: My new flail mower - well worth it
Post by: GeorgieB82 on July 11, 2014, 08:23:29 pm
Hi all,

Thought I'd share my experiences of my new tow behind flail mower from MDLPowerup.com (http://www.mdlpowerup.com).

I brought it primarily to top our grazing to keep the sheep happy which it does without missing a beat. What I wasn't bargaining for was its ability to cut thick reeds/rushes even at 4ft high, all I had to do was swap the grass flails for the Y shaped heavy duty ones and it munched through pretty much all I threw at it.

For under £1200 it was well worth it when the brand name ones are in excess of £4000!

I'll post some pictures shortly.

nice!   :) is it belt driven
only flail mower i have ever known to have any trouble is my grandads that as soon as you hit anything but the very shortest and easiest grass the belts went pop :( i forget what the problem was.
flail mowers are built to and should go through near on anything and a good one should be bombproof
Cheers Ed
