Title: selling laying hens
Post by: shrekfeet on October 29, 2009, 10:46:56 am
can anyone help me? We have a hen that produces quite a lot of chicks. We have more laying hens than we really need and I was thinking of selling some of them on at point of lay. What do I need to know/do? Presumably they would need to be vacinated?

Don't over price when you come to selling them, and make sure all the birds are fit and healthy before selling,
i personally wouldn't sell then as singles (as in one hen to a home) i would suggest selling them in pairs on more, so that they have basically moral support for each other

no need to vacinate, some breeders are against vacination as mostly not needed, ime not sure why but some say definatly no vacination, i read an article about to vacinate or not in PP but cant remember it.
