Title: Ryelands in Cheshire
Post by: The Chicken Lady on April 14, 2008, 09:03:28 am
I have been reading the posts about ryelands and they sound like what I am looking for. I have kept gritstones over the winter and they will be due to go to the big freezer in the garage next month. I have been looking at different breeds trying to decide what to keep to breed from and build a small flock. Is there anyone around the Cheshire/Derbyshire area that keeps ryelands. Has anyone any advice where I can acquire this breed from? :sheep: :)

Hi, TCL

Try the Ryeland Flock Book Society website - if you contact them, they will send you a list of sheep for sale. The annual show and sale is at Ludlow in August (23rd, I think).

If you PM me your snail mail address, I'll send you a copy of the list of members from the flock book - 5 pages of small print so I'm sure someone will be able to help!
