Yes saw this earlier on the news what a brave cat and I was shocked at the dogs behaviour there seemed to be no reason, a very dangerous dog.

I'd just been looking at it before I logged in here, had to watch it about 3 times - amazing, and that the cat followed the parents home from the park so they kept it, who adopted who?

That shows the dark side of un trained un controlled and dangerous dogs. Brave cat, it could have all gone horribly wrong and that poor child will be scarred for life.

It's a relief that there are good owners and decent dogs as well but this sort of thing does dog kind no favours.

Wow!!!!! What a cat!!!!!  :cat:

Saw on the news last night. My children loved the cat action. Seemed to hit the dog with such force.  :o

A neighbour told me a while ago that one of her adopted ex- feral cats had flung itself at her neighbours GSD as the dog growled at her.

Poor little lad though ... injuries looked so painful.  :(

I think it said it would be in quarantine for a while then put to sleep - (checking for rabies? etc)

I agree, it looked like it was trying to drag him away, shocking. (and scary!)

poor lad - and poor mum, but brilliant cat.

I showed this to my husband last night. The cat was in the kitchen.
"Is this the sort of behaviour we can expect from you?" DH said to cat.
Cat walked over and bit my leg. Thankfully I was wearing leggings as he can't get much purchase through the fabric, it was just a nip.

Its an amazing video - goes to show how loyal and protective cats can be too. I remember my childhood pet birman cat flinging itself at a neighbour who came to visit me on my sickbed when i had a virus. I was crying and the cat took it that the neighbour was to blame and scratched the poor womans face! my mum was mortified.

Not so sure about the 'great' idea to allow this hero cat to fling the first ball at a baseball came though, i was reading it last night on the news - a stadium full of loud people, things really could go wrong  >:(

Hadn't heard this but it sounds ridiculous, is this the way to reward a cat for probably saving their sons life? I'm sure it would be terrified, lets hope they scrap that idea and just give it the secure life it deserves.
I hope the parents don't decide to cash in on its fame  :(
