Willow is at 154 days and I think :fc: is in labour!
its her first time so she obviously isn't aware of the only kidding on a lovely evening rule!
checking on her every hour, she's breathing quite rapidly and seems hollower in the flank and very needy! But no mucus as yet that I can see so fingers crossed, at this hour of the night my eyes will be crossed from trying to stay awake :tired:
-
Good luck and hope it goes well
-
Hi
Any news?
-
Nothing yet......She's had breakfast, went outside for a wander now back munching on hay.
-
I am sure they like to keep you on your toes and that you get as little sleep as possible
Bluebell had no discharge at all and gave no warning, she was eating hay and 5 mins later the first kid was born
-
Thanks for that sokel,
last night she looked ready to pop but no mucus, no calling or pawing but looked soft round the vulva and she enjoyed a gentle back massage but she won't let me check the ligaments. Can still see movements going on so not too concerned yet but time is marching on......
just aswell I have 3 sons, I don't think I could cope if I had a daughter!
-
Any news yet.... mine have been quite slow in getting going this year and yep no mucous either... (except for the 1st kidder, that gave us a surprise 5 days early...)
-
No nothing yet :( mind you with weather tonight I don't mind too much :raining:
-
Hope it's at a reasonable time for you.
-
Well she still hasn't kidded!
Her previous owner said she was covered on 16th October so thats means we are now at day 158. She seems fine in herself, nosigns of distress but she has also developed a swollen front leg causing her to be lame!
if there is no developments by tomorrow morning I will call the vet and see what they say.
-
all of our Dairys where late this year. One going 6 days over
-
OMG - have you had ANY sleep? :o
-
Me and OH are doing in shifts, he stayed up last night then slept today :tired:
she seems a bit restless tonight :fc:
-
You need a camera!
Hope herself has now decided that this game is too boring and has produced her offspring?
-
I am now convinced after 2 weeks of sleepless nights that her previous owners had the dates wrong or she didnt on the first attempt so she may kid after week 3, next week. She is showing no immediate signs, ligaments are still firm and othet than finding it hard to get comfy when she lies down, she seems fine :tired:
-
Hope you have caught up on your sleep by now. It does sound like the dates were wrong. Must be soon now though.
-
Yes MWofG we have returned to a semi normal state but by my reckoning, if he didnt cover her on that date then she might have come back into season 3 weeks later.....which would possibly mean this weekend could be her due date ???
que sera sera :-\
-
Hope she is, then you can relax a bit.
-
I wish!,, her sister is due to kid around the 16th and my lambing kicks off at the same time oh and then I have 4 goats kidding in june and july, the best laid plans blah blah blah :tired:
-
You'll love them when they get here.
-
Willow had twins at 3pm today, I knew it couldn't be far away so spent the night in the barn with her last night :-)
-
Congratulations! Finally....! I guess you are having a big drink tonight and sleep!
I am off to the goat shed, looks like on of mine is thinking about it (I have watched her on the camera) and she is due tomorrow....
-
Congratulations. They are sweet. Love the colours.
Good luck with yours, Anke.
-
Good luck Anke,
Willow was struggling so had to give her a wee hand and kid 2 arrived while she was busy washing number one, good going though for her first time
-
Watched a single female kid being delivered just after I had finished milking at 8pm... very pleased. One more first kidder to go next weekend....
-
Very nice! Glad they finally arrived :)
