Well i had forgotten about them really and it looks as though there is quite a crop. Anyone got any favourite recipes for them ?

Depending on the size, Just washing them or peel them.
Roasting them brings out the flavour especially when you dont peel them. I have also tried frying them in butter with smokey bacon, onions, mushrooms which is a cholesterol boosting treat.
They are not called fartichokes for nothing though. :roflanim:

Delicious sliced with potatoes and baked in a light cheese sauce. Yum! They are also nice sliced wafer thin raw in salads - not that it's the weather for salad.
(and Q - if you cook them with a pinch of asafoetida it helps with the erm...issues!)

I was thinking about with smokey bacon, think i will give that a try--or maybe chorizo
Off to find some aestofedia (sp?)!
