Hello,
I am from Derbyshire and have 2.5 acres at the bottom of my garden. We have 3 Grey face Dartmoor ewes, 6 warren hens, a large natural pond, small fruit orchard, 7 terriers of various breeds, 4 large horses and a very old cat!!
We have a mobile saddlery business and attend many shows and events around mainland uk. :)

Welcome to the forum Coltsfoot.
We have similar (chickens, sheep, orchard, dogs, cat, pond etc) in mid-Wales which keeps us very busy

Hello. I'm in derbyshire, near Bakewell. where are you?
-
Hello and welcome from Carnoustie
-
We are near Alfreton, on the the border of Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire.
-
not to far away then. my girlfriend works near there. let me know if you need any haylage for the horses. (sorry I couldn't help myself)
-
Don't blame you!! At the moment using big round bales of hay, but always good to know there is more out there!
-
I've got round bales. Its nice for horses as its almost as dry as hay. my customers love it but i've got a few to spare this year after the good crop.

What a nice welcome :excited:
We only use hay as one horse has cushings...but will keep it in mind and thankyou.
We go to Scotland in August to Blair Horse Trials and have to say its the best event we do and the people are fantastic!

 and welcome from sunny Shropshire. Wish I had 2 1/2 acres at the bottom of my garden.

Hello from the very Northern part of Derbyshire (Cheshire border yards away from our land!)
I have probably browsed/bought from your stall at shows.
-
Next time pop in and say hello...normally have a pair of jack russells with us and the kettle (or wine) is normally on the go!!!!

Another hello from Derbyshire!
You will find anything you need to know about small holding here and the people are very friendly too
I'm up in the Hope Valley :raining:

Hello and welcome from Durham

Thanks. I use to be a member of the Derbyshire Smallholders many years ago, but don't have time to go to meetings etc so have gone for this route.
-
I was thinking of joining at some point, am i right in thinking they meet once a month in Alfreton?
-
I think so. Had a look at their website the other week and know they have a "do" on near the end of the month. To be very truthful I was one of the founder members when we were on a smallholding course at Broomfield college many years ago!!! I work away such a lot now its almost impossible to make the meetings. They do have a lovely stand at Ashover Show though.
