We've added a category in our links directory (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/links/) for smallholding blogs (or online diaries, or anything close to that). Thanks to FrostyM (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=25158) for the suggestion.
If you have a personal blog or website related to smallholding please list it here or PM me and I'll add it to the directory. No commercial sites please - if you want a commercial site linked pick the appropriate category and PM me.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan, I've just added a blog to my website, not sure if I qualify as I do have things for sale but it's hardly a commercial site! et me know what you think, the link could go to the blog direct if you don't like the site as a whole.
barleyfields.webs.com is the url if you want a look.

No problem, added now.
If you want to change the description just PM or email me a new one (dan@tas.re)

Thanks

I'm planing to test the water with a podcast starting in the springtime. Mainly about our challenge of building our house on our newly purchased croft and then working the croft on Skye.

Hiya Hamish Crofter. We went up to Skye to look at a smallholding. What weather, nd it was April! The caravan we stayed in was roped down......Quite frankly Shetlands/Soays. Belties/Highlands. Nd lots of thick hedging for any chance of garden!! Always thought Blueberrys or Cranberries would do well... All the best!

Ok folks We've moved, now we need to pay for the place...I need to get us OUT THERE, any tips, ideas, what you yourselves are doing? Blog or Website or both.......

Is there a place/directory with links to people's social media sites - Facebook, Twitter, Instragram etc?
I have a Facebook and Twitter page at the moment and like following other smallholders/farmers :)

You can add your FB page to your profile here:
http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=forumprofile (http://www.accidentalsmallholder.net/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=forumprofile)
At the bottom of this form is a field for your FB URL, just put the whole thing in including http:// and it'll save it to your profile and put an FB icon under your profile pic on every post.
I'll have a look at pulling out everyone's FB links into a directory of sorts, shouldn't be too hard.

Hello. I am a new member and my blog is at smallholdingsister.com
Any advice gratefully received!

Not sure how much land constitutes a smallholding, but I started a blog when we moved to Bulgaria for two reasons, one was because my memory isn't that good so it acts as a diary, but also because I found other people's blogs very handy when doing my research and figured mine might be too. It seems I was right and a few people have followed and been encouraged to do the same.

Hi there, My Square Sparrow blog ( http://square-sparrow.com/ (http://square-sparrow.com/) ) is about life on our 5-acre smallholding, nicknamed The Sparrowholding, near Loch Leven - including the antics of our Shetland sheep (known as the "chocolate sheep"), the ongoing weed war in our long-suffering polytunnel and the joys of country life in general. Would be delighted if you feel able to share it :-) Best wishes, Karen

I do have a commercial enterprise and I run a blog with it. As it has many articles around my expertise I'm hoping it will provide information to the members. If it is not OK I understand.

Hello, after a lot of upheaval etc we are in France and I would love to share my FB blog page if thats ok. https://www.facebook.com/SustainableSmallholding/ (https://www.facebook.com/SustainableSmallholding/)
We used to have a smallholding in Cornwall with an ag tie property. After a successful few years commercially making cider we had a change in the family dynamics and decided to up sticks and move to France - where - guess what - we are smallholders. Ive planted another orchard here and brought my equipment and we made our first juice & cider in September last year, exactly a year after we moved. I've also written a book, which I mentioned a year or so ago on here briefly and its out on general release at the start of May. Dont know if Im allowed to tell you about it, but if so, I will post again. Its a practical guide to sustainable and profitable smallholding, based on what we were doing in Cornwall and what I learned from other smallholders when I worked for both the Rural Business School and Duchy College.
Now that Ive had my cataract done, I feel more able to spend time again chatting about things I love, although Ive been following the forum.
