Title: Moveable fencing
Post by: Eagledance on August 09, 2009, 07:15:31 pm
I would like to give my hens a bit more room (but not total access all areas in the garden)
I have seen fencing that is temporary and moveable sort of made from string type stuff and moveable poles - anyone know where I can get some?

Ed :)

are you talking about builders scaffolding net, i use it as a roof on pens to keep flying pests out... if so a big roll from scaffolding company or a bit off a builder. i purchased a full roll when the bird flu was about if i had to put the poultry in a bird proof run as defra req

omlet sell moveable fencing - doubt it's the cheapest option but we needed some sharpish and i struggled to find an alternative - they do 25m and 50m packs.

no its not the orange stuff, its nylon net tiny holes, lasts forever, totally bird proof..... maybe the stuff you need is a lenght of electric netting with posts, you dont need an energiser.

I use poultry netting which I purchased from 'electricfencing.co.uk' if my memory serves me right ;D its fully movable, works on my undulating terrain, oh and I haven't as yet connected the battery but it still works a treat at keeping the chickens in and the sheep out!
