Title: quick easy and safer wood chopping
Post by: hexhammeasure on August 09, 2013, 08:44:00 am
came across this on facebook - I don't think you need an account to view but I may be wrong.
I have thought about something like this in conjunction with a saw horse but I like this idea too

Seen the same sort of thing, but much faster, done with the wood squeezed into an old tyre. Of course the wood is lovely and straight grained which isn't always the case in practice -try Hornbeam! Still think the safest method is with a manual hydraulic wood splitter. Slow and safe which suits me.

I have a slow petrol hydralic splitter that is great and safer to use than the tractor mounted ones. sometimes its just more fun to use an axe... so long as there are no knots!
