Title: John Deere 955
Post by: spandit on July 28, 2013, 09:40:53 pm
A friend of ours is downsizing and will be getting rid of his tractor. Not sure what he wants for it but are they any good? It's 4WD and comes with a mower underneath, a front loader and a trailer. We're buying 10 acres of gently sloping pasture which will need topping/mowing

Does it come with Agri tyres? maybe a bit small for 10 acres but hey it all depends on how much time you have to do the jobs. If the land is smooth the mid mount mower should be fine otherwise it will cause problems. you should be able to fit a small spinner on for your spring application. A roller should be ok if not too big.

John Deere is john Deere, they always generally make more second hand than others, i run large tractors of both john Deere and new Holland and they are both good. buying any tractor comes down to the usual things of buying any mechanical used item. Try it out first including put a heavy load in the front bucket to see if the hydraulics are ok.
