Sorry guys but I'm feeling so good about it I thought I'd show it off.
My girlfriends been on at me for ages to buy a new bed to replace my rickety old one ( I was using books to keep it off the floor! ) but I thought I'd try my hand at making one instead. Needless to say she wasn't too impressed with the idea but I went ahead and I'm pretty pleased with the result.
I know nothing about joinery etc. so its all screws and bolts but it still seems pretty solid. Anyway, here's a picture ( if the attachment works! )

Well done you. Have you tried it with a mattress to see if it falls to bits yet??? Only teasing, enjoy.

Thanks for the advice!!
I tried it with a mattress and look what happened >:( ;D ;D ;D

I think if that was the case your OH would be giving you your marching orders ::)

Yeah, and we didn't realise it was a different bed? Think we're daft? Anyway, well done - you'll need to bounce on it too to see if it stays in one piece ;D ;D ;D ;)

Hold that thought. No picture of bed being tried out - this is a family site.

Isn't that what beds are for? Families? ;D ;D ;D I mean Sunday morning - Mum, Dad, kids all having a chat in bed? ;D ;D ;D ;)

Dan and I had a chat with the kittens in bed last night. We were worn out with their playing and went to bed and they came too! They're mad as wasps! Bertie is Cass reincarnate.

Wow. Thats a nice job, well done ;)

My cousin made a new wrought iron bed out for his wife for their wedding anniversary. I remember because quite an elaborate scheme was required to keep her out of the house for long enough for him to get all the bits out of his workshop, and assembled in the bedroom......
The next day, I had to ask him how she liked it. "Oh, fantastic!" he replied. "We cracked a weld!!" ;D :o ;)
