Title: Crovect
Post by: new shepherdess on July 03, 2013, 10:26:52 pm
What is the easiest way of restraining sheep when applying Crovect. I have a sheep race, but surely if the sheep are really bunched up in there, then I'm going to get chemical all over the face of the sheep infront.

Thankyou

We only have 7 sheep so it's not much of an effort, but we get WELL wrapped up and gloved, catch sheep, put in field shelter, put collar on it, OH holds head end still and I spray shoulders, spine and rear end as per instructions.

If you have a race it's easy enough to squirt them from outside it with the applicator gun. I wouldn't worry massively about accuracy. Doing the dose on the back end is slightly more tricky. Make sure you hold the gun far enough away so a wide area gets covered - I tend to set the dose at 5ml and give a few squirts.
