Like everything these days there is a vast array of types and versions of electric fencing.
What starting equipment would you recommend for a simple internal cattle fence ( 1 0r 2 strand)
Also what about a sheep fence
Recommendations for suppliers?

I use a 'net fence' type with a charge delivery box, run by a 9 volt battery.
Pros; easy to set up and use.
cons; straight lines are ok but you have to use the whole fence, not adjustable. moving it ALWAYS seems to get in a muddle (not hard to sort but a bind)

We always used a single wire for cattle and netting for sheep and pigs (and to keep rabits out) with a fencer conected to a 12 volt car battery (from the scrap yard as they kept getting stolen) Always test the fence to check that it's working with a long piece of grass... or if you're brave just grab it. Any grass touching the fence can short it out and reduce its effectiveness

There are proper fence test kit and not too pricey better than getting zapped :roflanim:

Hi,
Took a look at the site quoted above, and yes they look good, BUT dont be fooled by the "Direct" name, as they are selling Hotline Fencing as we do.
Also pays to compare prices for "Like for Like" items eg Energisers - some sell at RRP, some sell at above RRP and others (ourselves included) sell below RRP.

I use Rappa as they deliver quickly have good energisers and don't charge any surcharge for my postcode :-)))
