Morning
Somewhere on this forum I have seen a thread about pig roasts - can't find it now. Would anyone have an idea of size of pig for max 50 people? Thanks in advance.

Our most recent roast involved a carcass weight of 52Kg (liveweight would have been around 85Kg) - it easily fed 100 people. So depending on how hungry folks are and how much you want by way of leftovers somewhere around 60Kg liveweight would probably cover it I think.

excellent - thanks very much - now to work out a cost for the pig

There is company down south wales, who do hog roasts, they might be able to help you out re: hygiene certificates, equipment and size of pig, their site is: http://http://monmouthshire-hogroasts.com/ (http://http://monmouthshire-hogroasts.com/)

i think its limited to what the hog roast can cope with (presuming its a gas one). we sent in chubby 35kg pigs and the abbattoir man said they were ideal for hog roasting.

A role here for the MICRO PIG, perhaps?! :excited:
