I am currently looking for a second hand pig arc that is for sale in and around the Scottish Borders. Please Email me with details. Many Thanks.

Sorry cant actually help with ark but my son made one for less than £200 using corrugated tin from Glendale Engineering in Wooler.

Thank you for your reply. I think this is what we will end up doing as they are pretty expensive to buy.

I think there is an ad couple of posts down with someone looking for offers on one. In Scotland but can't remember where

Forget that it was a feeder! Might be worth looking through the posts though as there have been some up for grabs. You can buy the tin and make one fairly cheap. We recycled some wood, 2 sheets of ply and bobs your uncle. Made it for about £150.

John Swan auctioneers have some second hand ones advertised for sale on their website £100 each http://www.johnswan.co.uk/private-sales (http://www.johnswan.co.uk/private-sales)

We would have liked a 'proper' arc but could not afford it, so we now have a bomb-proof pig house made from old pallets (7 for a big house), a few wooden stakes, scrap wood for rafters, salvaged wriggly tin and thick plastic sheeting. I can post a picture if you fancy using the design.

How many pigs is it for? and for growing on or breeding?
if not many for growing, triangular arc with ply works well.... see Emma's Pigs site for ideas
made our from recycled ply, but would not cost much even if you had to buy three sheets.
