Can anybody help my OH bless her went and purchased two shrubs from an auction and bless her she cannot remeber what they are called any help would be appreciated.

Looks Like Japanese Laurel to me - Acuba Japonica Variegata
but I'm no expert

Yes - I would say Variegated Laurel _ I have one and it is a lovely plant and not so ra(m)pacious a grower as the ordinary type of laurel :D
