Title: poorly lamb

Hi I got this lamb 3 weeks ago and has always had a runny eye but today he is cofing he is 9 weeks old and on hay and l rapid lamb mix  he also has a scaby mouth any help please thanks

Vet - antibiotics now. Probably pneumonia.
Scabby mouth is orf - transmissable to humans (and other lambs). Wear gloves when you feed it, other than that some sudocream may help, it will have to run its course.

Anke, be very careful with your diagnosis, could cause a lot of panic and unnecssary expense

Andrea, for starters, the runny eye is no related to the cough, your vet will have a oil cream called Orbenin, it should help

Re the cough, a lamb will cough if it has drunk its milk really fast from a bucket/bottle, is it coughing between feeds?

Re the scabby mouth, are you sure its not dry milk from where its spilt from the teat?

Thanks but he has been off milk for a week now . They are like cold sores round his mouth . He is eating hay and creep and hss fresh water. I think I'll take him to the vets in morning thanks for your advice Andrea
