Hi everyone!
We have made the move from the city to the outskirts of a small rural town at the end of last year and we love it. We have a small plot, the chicken house is built (I hope, OH is finishing it today) and we expect to move hens in very soon. We have a plot for growing veg. Probably tiny compared to what most of you have but it seems massive to us! Probably about three or four allotment plot size.
Once the chickens have moved in and the veggies are under control and well on their way my next project is a couple of dairy goats-I have always wanted some!
At the moment we both work full time - I am a secondary special needs teacher. Unfortunately we can't manage without a secure income for now, but one day.......
Looking forward to sharing experiences with you all

Hello and welcome - we have a small field we rent too which has chickens and our first pigs on it. All very new to us too - hubby is a gardener and I am a secondary teacher too, hoping to 'get out' some time!

Welcome to the board!
I have a fancy for dairy goats but think it would be too much of a tie at the moment, so have a pygmy goat wether to keep my pony company.

 and welcome from Shropshire. Sounds like you have more land than me - just a large garden - but I Have room for my two dairy goats and for growing veg and fruit.
