Don't they look a sorry sight! The far ones had onions put in over the Winter not that you'd know. So in spite of possible frosts another bed has had some spuds put in. The soil is awful as it came from the foundations dug out or our extension. Will see how treating 'em mean works for potatoes.

We've had our onions raided my mice who have very kindly uprooted them, stored them under the mypex nearby and then just left them!! Didn't even have the decency to eat them!!

I put a humane mouse trap in my outbuilding as the mice had eaten loads of tulip bulbs.... No wonder it didn't work. I discovered two mice ( thankfully no babies) happily nested in a sack of grass seed. Seed now in metal canisters. They were handsome looking mice mind you. :)

If it's subsoil, it'll be a bit too mean for growing in unless you've dug in plenty of FYM or compost.

Some if its ok. Dahlias liked it last year. Some o it poor.
