We had the first shetland born last night.
-
Four more today two singles and a set of twins popping them out good style. mixture of moorit and katmoget with a couple krunets, cold but ok out of the wind. There spelling corrected.
-
mixture of moorit and catmogget with a couple croonits,
OK - I've googled both terms and I get something to do with cats and You Tube karaoke videos.
What gives? :eyelashes:

Well, the lambed ewes are eating hardly any hay so they must be getting something but I can't see what. Like the tundra up here.

I shall give this a shot....
Moorit = moor red, think chocolate sheep
Katmoget = black belly so a grey/fawn sheep with black belly, legs, chin and facial stripes.
Krunet = Dark coloured with white patch on head
Moorit is a colour, katmoget and krunet are markings so you could have a moorit krunet, or more confusingly a grey katmoget krunet.
Shetland sheep are such fun ;D

We update 14 lambs so far and no more losses touch wood strange only 1 taken ? At last the grass is starting to grow slowly, time for a general tidy up after the winter as I am spending more time in the fields of a night tending to my flock.
