Depends how far you're coming from I guess! I like Doune and Dunblane, its a nice wee show, and well run compared to some.

I'll be there with my mother, LockerbiteReiver, and 10 goats!

10 goats!!!

Is that one for each class??

It's about 130 miles to get there, which I don't mind, but I went to the one outside Stirling( can't remember the name), and it was full of horses and alpaca!!!

Might go just to see your 10 goats and decided if I want an Anglo-Nubian one, their ears are quite cool!!! I did see them at the highland and did look out for you but you were busy showing!!

I'll see what the weather is to be!!

Central Scotland Smallholders (CSSA) have a stand at the show. I am going along to set up and other members will be manning the stand throughout the day. Please come along and say hello. You may even decide to join the Association

Central Scotland Smallholders (CSSA) have a stand at the show.

We will?  :o I didn't spot anything about that on the website.. I need to try to get to a meeting sometime  :(

I might come up on Saturday and bring a camera. I don't think I have anything scheduled for the weekend past melting.

Lol, well there are only 9 classes for goats! We have entries for 7 of the classes- including some of my Anglo- Nubians.

The show at Stirling hasnt been great for a few years, there are no goat classes anymore (although this was partly killed by Angus Agricultural show changing its date to clash, and it has a BGS recognised show there).

Beth, assuming I come up on Saturday, how would I be able to find you? I love goats and meeting a few people from the forums would be a good excuse...

...hovering around the CSSA stall may well occur, until things start getting thrown at me.

I remember now.........it was Drymen show (apologies to those staunch Drymen show goers). I'd heard so many times how good it is, and I thought it was pants!!!

Anyway, there seems to be an aircraft blocking my route of escape. Poor guys!!!

I'm going to try make the effort to go!!
I'll be wearing the TAS badge!

RAF Leuchars is 2 minutes away from me - I can see the run way from my bedroom window. A couple of the pilots come into the hotel so I am hoping that the guys I know are safe. A very sad day for my community.

Yup CSSA will have a stand there assuming it doesn't blow away (again) - so I will be wearing my CSSA Tshirt and TAS badge (which gets through the washing machine OK!)

My TAS badge has also made it through the wash- but I will try and not do that too often!

The goats are normally just beside the cattle lines- at the top end of the field, not the end nearest the roundabout. The sheep are up on the hill- and we're on the far side of the main ring from the sheep. I think there's a map with the catalogues (could be wrong). I will visit the CSSA stand just to see who's kicking about.

Hi Beth - we'll get up to see you defo.

I'm really looking froward to it but hope the rain stops. If we (CSSA) blight another show, we'll be banned.

Sorry, Calum - I thought it was on the site but the webmaster let us down. I will punish him appropriately!

I quite enjoyed the show, my first one. It was great meeting so many people from TAS/CSSA finally and everyone so friendly and happy to chat.

Beth, congratulations on getting best in show for one of your goats! (and for not getting a hole in your jumper from another one of your goats...)

I've uploaded a few photos from the day ... these are straight off cam with no correction and the Dump part of the URL is there to signify they're not exactly my best photos.

Calum, I think some of these are really good. The old bloke on the tractor and the laddie and his Dad; the one of Janis is really good too. And the one of the bloke dozing. I rather think the one of me is quite flattering too - Dan always manages to take really cheesy photos of me.

You can tell you are a professional photographer, they are great photos, all those animal faces are very expressive, you have given me some ideas for shots!!

Thank you Rosemary and Sandy! I could rip most of those photos apart, like pointing out the one of Rosemary has a distracting background.. but I won't  ;D

Sandy, were you present on Saturday? I think there was only one person I didn't catch the name of through the day .. the lady sitting beside Dan and Linz when I returned to the CSSA stall around 3pm.

We had guests that hung around most of the day for Saturday and Sunday.....one going to a party and a couple with loads of issues and I was too sensitive to tell them to go!!!!!! the other couple also were enjoying themselves a bit too much as well, not to mention after the "finding a half naked women in a room" scenario we sat outside with another guest and "I" drank too much so was rather delicate anyway. I always miss the shows I love them but all weekends we have guests arriving and I get stuck making beds etc!!! I love it though. I loved the photo of Rosemary, it's interesting how you can tell you are professional...I wounder what you think I look Like??? I will try!!!! to post a photo, and Rosemary, the photos my ex took of me were always cra* but now I look back at them they were not that bad, the photo of you is natural and not posed like when our partners have a camera in their hands ;D

I am not sure what you look like?  i must confess, as I have grown older moving up here has given me some freedom, I used to know sooooooo many people and they would judge you on how you looked, what clothing you had on and how you aged..I am glad to be away from that and now do not have to have a full matching set of clothing when I go out and full war paint!!!! I Love my freedom and actually acknowledge that I am becoming my Grandma!!!!

Hi Alex!

Your posture in the final photo isn't helping to be honest, but the camera does add 10 100lbs and that white coat is very slimming!

Well it's very nice of you to say so!

Of course the truth is I'm not fat, I'm just a foot and a half too short.

Oh, and for all my complaining about my tubbyness, those are excellent photos.  Really first rate stuff.  Well done  :).

Oh, and I do like the third photo, it almost makes me look like I know what I'm talking about  ;D.

Yes we went.  Amazingly the weather held for the hour.  Drum's still scared to bits of the walkway and see-saw though, so we were crawling through exercises at a painfully slow pace.  Jess was having great fun though! :)

Is she or isn't she?  Was it planned - or a sneaky midnight romp?

Well apparently, she isn't. But for some unknown reason the vet thought they were looking for puppies that were 6 weeks on, whilst they knew that the whole reason we booked today was because we think that its only just the four weeks mark! Supposedly you can't see them before 4 weeks. Anyway, they said she's not, but there was still a small chance she is and they just didn't spot them.

Did you see a mating and a tie?  If not I would be doubtful of pups, if so did you note the date it took place?  Did you intend them to mate? Yes 28 days from first mating is earliest for a scan, but you can tell before that if you know what to look for.  Pinker nipples, 'tramlines' between the nipples.  Did the vet look for either of these? I'll have a look on Tuesday evening.
