Title: Lamb worming
Post by: coastal on June 29, 2009, 06:38:57 pm
I have been given two heb lambs. I have bottle fed from 4 days old and they are now 5 weeks. They are on 300ml milk twice a day with add lib pellets and on grass.
When should i worm and what with, as you will gather not done this before.

Has the grass they are on had sheep on it in the last year, or does it border land with sheep on?  If not they should not have much of a worm burden.  We usually worm at 6 months in lambs raised on their mothers but as we have a croft, there are other sheep on every boundary!

My advise  would be to ask your vet. He can advise you when and if to worm depending on whether sheep have grazed the land previously. Advice is free, vets visits are not.
