Title: Smallholder series on trimming sheep
Post by: feldar on March 07, 2013, 01:55:49 pm
Just had this sent through from our society for anyone interested in learning how to trim sheep for shows, thought it might interest some of you;

The Smallholder Series is producing a new DVD on trimming and showing sheep which will demonstrate the process of selecting the right sheep, nutritional management, preparing and trimming your sheep, through to ring etiquette. We aim to cover a selection of all the main categories shown today including down, hill, longwool, primitive and hair breeds.

We are currently trying to ascertain how much interest there would be for this type of programme, and would be most grateful if you could ask your members. We can then focus on breeds from areas that have indicated a high interest.

We are also in the process of selecting expert trimmers of breed champions to feature in the programme. If any of your members would be interested in this, please could you forward their details on to us. This could be an excellent opportunity to promote your breed.

Have a look at our website www.smallholderseries.co.uk (http://www.smallholderseries.co.uk/) to see our DVD series 'Sheep on Your Smallholding'.
