Title: Insurance
Post by: Rosemary on June 20, 2009, 05:41:47 pm
Didn't know where to put this.

I want to get some "proper" insurance for the smallholding. I worry that sheep stray, cause an accident etc or similar. It's not personal insurance, it's for the business.

Anybody recommend a good one?

For the same reasons as you I took out insurance when the sheep arrived last year.  Its with Ottery Insurance - they usually advertise in the Smallholder magazines.  I think my policy is called 'smallholders combined'.  They were good to deal with on the phone.  Worth a quote probably.

Hello,

We're insured through NFU Mutual. No problems at all with them.

Cheers

Gavin

Have just this minute joined the forum, in order the ask the very same question... can anyone recommend good deals/companies  on smallholding insurance?!

Also, what kind of things are covered in a basic policy?
Animals? pets as well?
Land?
Accidents? Trespass?

The officialese of insurance confuses me, so I'd really appreciate some real life advice!

Thanks
