I went along to our village craft fair the other day and got chatting to a chap who turns out to be head of the Northants Guild of Spinners and Weavers. I told him I had a few sheep and wanted to weave a peg loom rug with my GFD fleece and learn how to spin my Shetland and Hebridean sheep's wool.
Turns out he comes to our village craft group every Monday, and if I join up, he will bring a drum carder and show me how to create rolags to weave and how to spin using a drop spindle! Am very excited - will be going along next Monday! :excited: :knit:

Blackbird, thats good news.
I found that when I moved somewhere fairly remote there was a spinners club near to me too.
I am sure you will enjoy it.

Hmm interesting, we may cross paths at some point!
Though I have already "specialised" in longdraw, so to speak, once I'm back up and running (illnesses, blah blah blah). Happy carding! I'm useless at it ::)

One of my best sellers were rugs woven from unspun wool, carded on a drum carder. Wish I still had the equipment to do some more.
