Title: Chicken Feed
Post by: Townie on May 25, 2009, 11:34:45 am
I have been scouting around again trying to find a supplier closer to where I live and have come across this place

http://www.thepoultrysite.com/directory/1/uk-and-ireland/18/feed-general/1539/poultry-supplies-plus (http://www.thepoultrysite.com/directory/1/uk-and-ireland/18/feed-general/1539/poultry-supplies-plus)

Has anyone used them before?

Or

Can anyone recommend somewhere, at the moment I am travelling down to Dalkeith - expecting pekin bantam chicks to hatch this week and need to get some chick crumb in

I buy all my feed from "Davidson's" in Blairgowrie. I have shopped around and they are cheaper with most the things I buy, and I buy a fair bit. They deliver to me, but not sure if they would to you but you can only ask. Their number is 01250 874486, failing that you have Carrs Billington in Milnathort which is closer than Dalkeith for you.

Hope this helps.

I suppose it depends on the volume you need as regards cost.  I use a 20kg bad of layers pellets a week costing £8.50 from Alloa pet centre or Feeds n Needs in Tilly, slightly cheaper.

I have noticed that the cost of Layers Pellets just seems to be going up and up.

Because one of the ponies is prone to Lamanitis I have started buying Molichaf that is approved by the Lamanitic Society and that again is very expensive compared to  the everyday stuff. Worth it in the long run if it saves Danny some pain.
