Before I put them in the mart as culls, I thought I'd offer them here.
I have 5 wilts horn ewes for sale - all are 2009 born, so should live for a good few years yet. I am culling them from my flock as they needed assistance at lambing or were barren.
Therefore I would not put them to the ram, I find these things tend to repeat themselves.
However, they have plenty of years left in them, sound feet and are wool-shedding. I never feed them anything other than grass and they have a very low incidence of strike, due to the wool shedding.
'Medium ewes' (culls) made an average of £67.27 in Salisbury Market on Oct 2nd (I wouldn't class them as 'best' ewes because they are not a commercial breed - nor 'poor' they are in good nick).
I would take £60/head for them. Delivery possible.
Thanks,
Steve.
