Title: Coloured Sheep Sales Llandovery
Post by: Blinkers on September 19, 2012, 10:34:00 am
Mornin' all - anyone going to the CSS at Llandovery on 30th of this month?   The catalogue isn't on line yet, but should be ready very soon hopefully.   Didn't make it last year but am hoping to do this year  :excited: .   Been selling off my Horse driving stuff (HDT carriage is currently on its way to Ireland!)  as never going back to that now and so have a few pennies burning a hole in my pocket  :innocent: .      Fronhaul - are you going to be there?

Hopefully yes.  Not entered anything which is something I am cursing over as I was let down on a consignment of 15 Jacobs to Cheshire and now have a number I thought were sold still with me and my sheep budget is all but spent but I do know of a couple of animals likely to be there that I know will tempt me.  The entry looks tempting but I haven't seen a catalogue yet.

1269 males and females entered for the sale, comprising of 549 badgerface, 116 herdwick, 117 Jacob, 196 Black welsh mountain, 20 coloured ryeland, 28 coloured mule, 15 zwartbles, 18 blue texel, 3 shetland, 104 balwen's, 78 crossbred, 2 dorper's, 19 coloured dorset, 4 swaledale

So who is bringing the headache pills and the ear muffs?  Or have they sorted out their PA system?  It is the only auction I have ever attended anywhere in the country where you can hear the auctioneer a quarter of a mile away.

Oh heavens, thanks for the warning.   They usually echo so much I can't understand what they're saying at the best of times!  :excited:

Thanks Blinkers.  On a quick look through I have my eyes on one shearling so I may arrive fairly late and just try for her.

Ok I managed to miss absolutely everyone including those I know. :(

Anyone buy anything interesting?  I came back to see to the animals and left a friend with a cheque in the hope of one ewe and refused to contemplate buying others.

And I got her!  The shearling ewe on the left taken at the show yesterday with her breeder.  Very happy as she is carrying the bloodlines I have been looking for.

I didn't make it in the end.  Due to the weather and being way behind with tasks that HAD to be done before today we needed to crack on.   However, I wasn't toooooo disappointed as I'd managed to secure the purchase of 4 more Zwartbles from a breeder - Will be collecting after tupping  :excited: :excited: :excited:
