The first of this years experimental crosses are just coming into lay, and I am delighted with the results so far

What a lovely basket of coloured eggs
My OH has been incubating EBAY eggs over the summer, with some success, so we may be keeping an extra few breeds.  Out of interest, what have you been crossing or is it  :-X  at the moment  :eyelashes:

Thanks ... I am really pleased with them.  Basically they are my Marans and Welsummer with various Cream Legbars, but then recrossed back again to improve the egg colour.  They are excellent layers also which is a plus, and once they get going the eggs are mostly large.

I do have a few spare growers if you are interested.... :innocent:

You should enter some of those in a village show.
